Tarot Interpretations, The Empress

The Empress is the mother of the house, the girl that has matured to become a full blown woman.  She is mother nature, sitting in the garden and has knowledge of all the herbs, and seeds.  Her sign is that of the planet Venus and as such deals with all domestic matters and issues of children, love, romance, relationships. The angels Haniel and Anael speak through this card.


Upright meaning


The empress is the herald of material and domestic comfort, security, and protection, and all those positive association of motherhood.  This is a good card for those with financial problems as it indicates abundance on both the material and emotional level.  The empress may also predict pregnancy.


Upside down


Reversed the Empress becomes overbearing and swings to emotional extremes.  She becomes the woman that is constantly demanding attention and uses emotions to get attention.  Reversed she becomes overprotective and insecure.  In this position both financial and emotional situations are in the negative side.


The Wisdom of the Empress


The Empress represents the number 3, which is that of completion.  She wears a crown of wreathes indicating her sovereign ruler over mother nature.  Even though she is female, she is a lioness and a queen of the jungle.  In her is strength, and in charge of herself.


The personality of Daleth, The Empress

The personality manifested by Daleth is that of a lion. The strength, aggression and unwavering courage of the lion is the characteristics of Daleth.

The lion refuses to be tamed, and refuses to stay in its cage, even though it can act friendly to its master, the lion keeps eluding. The lion you know is the king of the jungle, unchallenged, fast, determined, ambitious, goal oriented, and goes after its prey regardless of what stands in its path.

The hard working individual, resolved and steadfast is the characteristics of Daleth. Inner and outer strength is its theme.
